What Do We Cover?

When you think of Bordeaux wines, you might think of the fairy-tale chateaux, with prices that put the wines produced here way out of reach for most of us, and, for a lot of the top stuff, you would be right. However, that is not a fair representation of the area as a whole, with many fabulous wines accessible to both novice and enthusiast, at much more attainable prices. In this class we start at the beginning. We learn about the main grapes grown, including Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Semillion. The main areas of production are introduced, and we will talk about the overall styles you can expect to find. We cover reds, whites and dessert wines. No prior knowledge is assumed and it serves well as an introduction to the area. If you would like something more intense, please see the Imperial class list. Whats Included? - Your own personal wine presenter. - Up to two hours online tasting. - Tasting notes, maps, and other materials to enhance your experience.
